Read about the latest changes on the powerultrasonics site!
If you've ever visited this site before you may have noticed that it's just changed... a lot! As well as the obvious style change, the entire structure of the site has been updated. Both of these changes were long overdue - the site has been relatively unchanged since its original launch in 1999 (prehistory in internet terms!).
Once again I've updated the forum software - this time to the popular open-source Simple Machines Forum (SMF).
In the process I've also deleted all users who had joined but never posted. Apologies to any genuine users who may be affected by this - it was just too difficult to separate you from all the fake users. If you'd care to join again I promise not to delete you... (until next time!)
As always the upgrade may have some unexpected side-effects so if you notice anything wrong please let me know, either here or privately.

As a part of the ongoing upgrade to the powerultrasonics site I've just put up a new [b]Sonotrode Calculator[/b]
This version (0.1!) only does a few simple calculations - sound velocity, tuned lengths and resonant frequency for stepped sonotrodes and rods (both of which have a tuned length of half a wavelength, ignoring the slight effects of diameter). Graphs of amplitude and stress distribution along the length are also given.
