Suggestions for new applications of power ultrasonics. How can I apply ultrasonics to....

ultrasonic separation of fine gold and black sand

Hello
I am new to this site and would like some suggestions on an idea I am working on.
I live in northern British Columbia, Canada, and my hobby is placer mining for gold. At today's gold prices, however, it is starting to be more than a hobby.
I will describe two methods for concentrating gold in black sand, how they are related, and why I need help with ultrasonics.

Business Idea

Hello everyone. I have a Branson ultrasonic welder that was passed down to me. I currently own my own business and work from home. My question is: What kinds of things could I do with my Ultrasonic Welder to make some money? Are there any small businesses that one could start with an ultrasonic welder? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Joe

Hi All
My name is Rafiq and I am from Japan. The product of my company is packaging Machine. One of them is ultrasonic sealing and packaging machine. Actually I am worried about the excessive wear of the sonotrode and the anvil working face which is dramatically reduced the tool life (especially sonotrode life). That's why I am looking for a new type of sonotrode that will reduce the machine cost. For information, I am using the sonotrode material SKD11(HRC60) and the anvil material S45C(HRC43). If possible please give me suggestion about this matter.

Rafiq

Few questions

Dear Chirs,
Can you please answer to my questions

Why peizo electric quartz cystal is the preffered in ultrasound ? why not other ceramic material ?

Power ultrasound ( low frequency and high power ) can be made to operate 24-7 ? How do you remove heat ? Heat sink when you talk about large ultrasound ?

What is the typical efficiceny when the power from electricity is transeffered to the desired accoustic effect. ( energy losses in temperature ) ? Does the power loss go up exponentially with the power of ultrasound going up ?

Ultrasonication of a pressurized liquid

I need to perform ultrasonic cleaning of a high pressure flow process (300 bar). I would like to do this by introducing a sonotrode directly into the system. I have a 200 W 20kHz generator with a long Ti alloy sonotrode. Is this possible? Does anyone have suggestions on how this can be done (or even better experience with pressurized systems)?
